This was the first photo mosaic, created using traditional mosaic techniques.  Tiles are cut, arranged and fit to the contours of the composition. This image is also an Ode to a tree that I long admired, but that was cut down by a country neighbor, for being a "bad tree".  I could not comprehend such a thing, for it had given me such joy, there on the hill in it's glorious solitude, year after year, seasons and days gone by.
